GETTING STARTED

The first step is to schedule the preliminary production meeting. We recommend doing this in-person to allow for a real-time assessment of what is possible when we bring a Novel Experience to your site.

The pre-production meeting does not constitute a commitment to host a Novel Experience, but rather, an exploration of the possibilities.

Here's what is typically covered in the pre-production meeting:

Property familiarization including, but not limited to:

      Review appropriate spaces

      Capacity assessment

Review property rules, restrictions and fire laws

      Safety guidelines

      Useable spaces

      Parking

Business details including, if applicable:

      Timing

      Tickets

      Donation Systems

      Financials

      Advertising

      Sponsorships

      Access schedule

Goals and Outcomes:

We accommodate your goals and customize performances to meet the guidelines and needs of each site.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is this appropriate for all ages?            A: Yes. But we encourage designated showtimes for those 12 and under.

Q: What does it cost?                                A: Each Novel Experience is customized to the site, and because we don't use                                                                                                                  sets, special lighting, or sound equipment, it is very cost efficient. Specific pricing                                                                                                            is part of the preliminary production meeting and tied to the needs of the host.

Q: How is this tied to promoting literacy?  A: After our first production of Pride & Prejudice, we learned that many of our                                                                                                                     guests had either never heard of Jane Austen, or "only seen the movies."  When                                                                                                           inquiries began coming in to find out when the next performances were, we learned                                                                                                       that our show inspired people to read the novel and to explore other works by                                                                                                                 the author. In response, we created A Novel Experience with the mission of                                                                                                                   introducing as many guests as we can to the world of classic literature and                                                                                                                     joy of reading.

Q: Can a Novel Experience be booked

for fundraisers or other events?                A. Each Novel Experience is customized to the site, and can be adapted for                                                                                                                       performance at fundraisers, thematic events, and educational programming.

We can also provide discussion prompts and lesson plans prepared by                                                                                                                           accredited teachers.
